The Story of Both Yoga

Both (Breath Of The Heart) is a lock down story...

When the pandemic hit in 2020 Uma & Dingo found themselves, along with so many others around the world, suddenly restricted beyond anything they had ever known.

Until that moment they had both relied heavily on travel - Dingo is (was!) a touring musician, and Uma was hosting Yoga immersions, trainings & retreats around the world. They decided to put their skills together, to create something that was genuinely helpful to the challenges of this particular time, as well as accessible & inclusive to everyone. And so, the Breathe courses were born from lockdown in their home on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. These courses proved a popular and a welcome change from asana (yoga movement) classes, and bridged the gap for many who feel meditation to be too challenging.

3 progressive 7 day courses were created (Discover, Deeper & Dynamic), taking students from foundational pranayama breathwork for relaxation and stress/anxiety relief, all the way through to highly energising and clearing practices. It wasn’t long before the students wanted more, and a 100 hour accredited Teacher Training was up & running too. All this while they were homeschooling their 2 kids from the kitchen table...

Uma’s 15 + years of experience, along with her gentle, warm and authentic approach allows for a deeply effective practice that not only centres students within themselves, but soon provided a sense of connection within the breathing community that they had created - something that was so needed at the time. Dingo brings his skill with building and setting up the systems and tech required to make the online learning experience, simple, easy and seamless.

Elisa Rosenthal

Born and raised in Southern California, Elisa was fortunate enough to have had an upbringing encompassed by a range of diverse cultures and walks of life.

Having been raised by a Jewish father and a Thai Buddhist mother, Elisa was exposed to the ideas of mysticism from a young age and while she may have been too young to make sense of the contrasting belief systems and ideologies, she absorbed the magic like a sponge; carrying it into her adulthood where she would explore it with maturity, curiosity and profound esteem and respect.

In 2012, Elisa earned a degree in broadcast journalism with aspirations to become a news and music reporter in California. However, her Midheaven had other plans and would see Elisa move to Australia soon after completing her studies and she never looked back.

Elisa dreams of becoming a reporter were transformed into dreams of becoming a devoted student of Yoga when she embraced her practice more consciously, as a way to process the great changes and hardships that come with moving overseas.

Elisa became a citizen of Australia in 2017 and currently resides with her husband in Naarm (Melbourne, Victoria) where she connects with the community through not only her Yoga practice, but through her love of music, playing shows with her band which also serves as a vessel of introspective healing in its own right.

Now in 2021, Elisa has been a devoted Yoga practitioner for over ten years and has been sharing Yoga with others since 2017. Elisa sees the practice as an intimate relationship with the body, spirit and the natural world.

Sarah Jury

Sarah is a mother to three very active boys (yes, outnumbered at home!) and a devoted student of Yoga,

Sarah’s great passion is the union of motherhood and spirituality. Having practised yoga for over ten years, it was the transformative time into motherhood eight years ago that sparked Sarah’s dharma to deepen yoga study. The experience of an empowering first pregnancy, that was supported by a committed prenatal yoga practice ignited this fire- Sarah just knew she had to share!
Two more empowered pregnancies and births later, with the most recent birth being ‘absolutely life changing’, continues to inspire Sarah to share her practice with others.

Sarah authentically shares the practice of yoga not only from experience, but from a deep desire to empower women to explore their own inherent power and remembrance as nature Herself. Sarah’s curiosity to learn and experience now sees her as a highly versed yoga practitioner where spirituality and motherhood can dance together. After that first prenatal experience, some treasured memories include teaching Prenatal Yoga with son #1 in the womb, ‘Baby Om’ with son #2 and facilitating gatherings for women with son #3.

Humbly always a student, Sarah’s devotion to expand her knowledge has seen her complete 500+ hours training in the yoga tradition, with a focus on Pre/Postnatal Yoga (Bliss Baby Yoga & Women’s Yoga School), Pranayama (BoTH) and Embodied Mythology (Awakening Women’s Institute). Sarah resides on Boonwurrung & Bunurong land (Phillip Island) with her family. Daily, her practice includes deep gratitude for the natural surrounding beauty, the transformational practice of yoga and the lessons of ‘presence’ that come with motherhood. She loves studying embodied mythology, winter ocean bathing, that first mug of morning cacao, attempting to play soccer with her family, female friendships, and adventures in the new family home (a camper)
