Uma - a small paragraph is not enough. But, thank you. For everything. Thank you for cocreating the path of which so many of us want to walk (but have no idea where to take the first step) - and then showing us the way. You are an absolute encyclopedia of wisdom and knowledge, and such an amazing mum/teacher/leader/facilitator...all the things. We are so lucky to have all found you along our paths, and to now all be travelling this road together.

Julie

Weekly Overview

Week one

Breathe: Discover Live

The breath is the bridge between the conscious & unconscious mind, and is the gateway to self enquiry and deepest change. In this module we will learn the mechanics of breathing - including musculoskeletal anatomy, nervous and endocrine systems, as well as transformational breathing techniques for beginners, that are safe for everyone to do.

Week two & three

 Holding Space

What does it mean to hold space? In this module we will explore the role of the Yoga Teacher through the lens of inclusivity, healing, trauma, receptivity & privilege.
Learning powerful breath techniques for shifting big energy comes with big responsibility, the depth and quality of your teaching relies on your capacity to hold space for a vast spectrum of experiences and personalities.

Week four

Breathe: Deeper Live

This module focusses on learning safe & correct techniques for progressively stronger pranayama, bandha (energetic locks) & sequencing, as well as a deeper understanding the Subtle Body. With focus on teaching intermediate level students, we will learn how to safely guide powerful heating practices that swiftly cleanse the energetic body.

Week five & six

Fear

The path of Tantra invites us to embrace every emotional state that arises, including fear, anger, rage, disappointment and disgust. Nothing is rejected, denied or exiled from your experience. In this module we explore emotions as entrance points to growth; engaging with fear - navigating with curiosity, letting it lead us to know true courage.

Week seven

Breathe: Dynamic Live

This week, we will be immersing in practicing & learning to teach Dynamic pranayama, as well as inviting deep enquiry and self-evolution through Myth, mantra & Mudra. Our teaching focuses on how to safely guide advancing students, as well as genuinely including those not wishing to challenge their limits within practice.

Week eight & nine

Social Justice & Purpose

Dharma is both the Universal law & your individual, unique purpose. As Yogins, we are aligning our growing personal power with that Universal or collective pulse, making life an offering to the world through your karma (action) and seva (service). In this module, we dive deep into what is it that lights you up and what is it that you want to contribute to or change in the world. Who or what is it that you would like to support? This module asks us to take an honest look at what it means to be a Yogin, and how we might use our privilege for the highest service.

Week Ten

Taking the seat of the Teacher & final teaching projects

What does it mean to practice & share Yoga in the modern world? What does it mean to call yourself a Yoga Teacher? What responsibilities come with the title? This week we will allow space for all the various threads of the previous weeks to come together. You are invited to take the seat of the Teacher - grounded in your own unique dharma and with the support of a compassionate & courageous community.
Your training culminates in this last week as you are invited to take the seat of the Teacher, sharing your own 20-minute Breathing practice within your group, livestream OR, alternatively, you can submit your pranayama session recording directly to Uma for assessment. This is your opportunity to bring together your entire journey, challenging your boundaries and asking you to take a giant Hanuman Leap towards your most radiant & authentic self.

Catherine

Immeasurable gratitude for Breath of the Heart - what a gift it has been! Thank you to you both Uma & Dingo, for holding space; for bringing your fullness of self to each session; for caring so deeply about this work and about community; for creating a space for a beautiful community to be born and for nurturing it over 7 weeks to have it grow; for listening to what called you and offering it to the world. So much love to you both.
