integration & embodiment

the co-creation of Spiritual Community

We each have defining moments along the Spiritual Path that stop us in our tracks. Moments of deep questioning and challenge, and moments of undeniable awakening... moments where we understand that nothing can ever be the same again.

So how do we integrate the process? What is there for us to sustain this growth?

How can we provide for others, and actively receive the support & space required to understand and assimilate this transformation?

The  Śākta Path offers a place to explore sustained transformation through the ceremony of embodied process rest & reflection, and the ritual of giving & receiving support.

Ceremony, Ritual & the Yogini Temple

The Vedas speak constantly of rituals for connecting to the various elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether. Although the ceremonies become more elaborate over time and continue to evolve in extraordinary detail through the Tantrik period, their essence remains the same.

In the open-air Yogini temples of the Tantrik period, the women gathered to dance under the moonlight, to bathe, anoint and massage one another, to bleed and grieve together, and to honour themselves and each other as extensions of the Goddess through everyday rituals. They gathered for ceremonies that honoured the moon, the sun and the Earth– as well as everything that is alive – as sacred portals into the remembrance of the ultimate Unity of Divinity. The women were not locked out of the indoor temples, they just also had their own sacred places of worship & connection. It seems, the closer they could be to the Earth, the Moon and Nature for these Ceremonies, the closer they could be to the Goddess, to Shakti. This yogini path didn’t rely on scriptures or anything concrete to lay an altar upon. It didn’t rely on the authority coming down from anyone or anything - the Yogini path asked each woman to claim the authority within herself, to make sacred each moment, and to rise in the remembrance that the Goddess exists in everything, including her.

“Adapting these ideas to modern life has been the focus of my own Spiritual path for some time, and, as I listen to the whispers of my heart to immerse in story and ceremony, I am also compelled to share what I have discovered; to actively co-create a community that are genuinely seeking to make life more meaningful; the spiritual path more integrated.
My hope is that these whisperings can fan the flames of transformation -
burning away any illusions of separation that hold us back from the exquisite bliss
and pain of this precious life.”

Testimonials

Sarah Jury

My week on the Shakta Ceremony & Ritual Immersion was truly transformative on so many levels. I realise now, the great power of being 'in retreat', to have the spaciousness to focus, absorb, experience and explore. Uma set an incredibly safe and empowering environment to have the self authority to really take this journey. The exploration and embodiment of ceremony and ritual daily was incredible and holds within it, life long lessons and insights that have been carried now, into my daily family flow. To experience such profound wisdom in Circle with others, has woven strong relationships with others and these, I hold so dear to me. I can't quite place the words to describe the truth of initiation into the Goddess that I experienced, it is something that can only be described through feeling... but with this I do feel an abundant confidence and responsibility to integrate, to share and to continue the expansion.

Marania Bunton

Attending the Shakta Ceremony YTT was a profoundly moving experience.

Bali feels like the best place for this container to be held seeing how devotional the balinese culture is. It was so very special to be held by a land that lives and breathes ceremony.

I have a deep trust in Uma and the safety of the container that she creates with her own magic.

The bond we created with the other Shaktis during that week is very dear to my heart.

That week I came back home to the safety of my own being, created a deeper connection to myself and of my boundaries.

I am so grateful for you Uma for creating these spaces for deep expansion or whatever else needs to come through.

Thank you thank you thank you

Kylie Burtuch

I am eternally grateful to Uma for creating such a powerful container of love and transformation that was the Shakta Tantra YTT in Bali. Uma's potent teachings and transmissions of wisdom are so powerfully profound and impactful, yet her heartfelt recognition and regular invitation of co-creation was all encompassing. The space and staff at Gaia Retreat and the energy of Bali held us all so beautifully. Experiencing the expansive love, heartfelt care, warm compassion, deep connection and transformation continues to ripple through me. It was nourishing on every level of my being! Thank you!
